La Perle by Dragone

Those who love shows, especially acrobatic ones, will not be disappointed in Dubai, as it is possible to attend the breathtaking shows organised at the ‘La Perle‘ theatre and created by Franco Dragone, an Italian-born director known worldwide for his skills as an artistic director. Dragone, in fact, during his career has created not only many shows in Las Vegas, but also those of Cirque du Soleil and many other shows that have smashed the box office all over the world.

His fame and skills also led to Franco Dragone being called upon by Dubai’s La Perle theatre in 2017, which was the first permanent show of its kind in the Emirati city. Since the beginning, La Perle by Dragone shows have been a success and now more than 400 performances are staged every year.

The shows

In a special theatre equipped with modern technological systems and seating for about 1,300 people, La Perle by Dragone is staged in the evenings. It is a truly breathtaking show that combines captivating artistic performances with acrobatics and modern technology. The show also combines aspects of Dubai’s rich culture with special effects and lighting effects that leave all spectators breathless. Added to this is the composition of the seating (1,300 seats spread over just 14 rows), which offers all spectators a unique perspective of the action taking place both in the air through twirls and tightrope walking and in the water.

State-of-the-art technology allows the stage first to be flooded with water and then within seconds to dry up. Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment, almost 2.7 million litres of water are poured onto the stage, which is then drained in less than a minute, all while the audience watches an elegant stage set. For these performances, the best performers are then prepared to ‘fly’ tied to ropes around the auditorium and reach speeds of up to 15 km/h while performing amazing stunts.

La Perle by Dragone organises ninety-minute shows five days a week, with breaks usually on Sunday and Monday evenings.

Shows usually take place at 18:30 and 20:30 and tickets must be purchased in advance.

How to get to La Perle by Dragone

La Perle by Dragone can be easily reached by car or taxi by taking Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Habtoor City.

Alternatively, by metro you can get off at the Business Bay stop on the red line, which is approximately 1 km from the theatre. From there you can then walk or take a taxi to reach La Perle in a few minutes.
